Clark & Rose at the IAM 62nd Annual Meeting & Expo in Las Vegas
Phil Stewart & Graeme Lorimer share their insights:
From October 14–17, 2024, Clark & Rose had the privilege of attending IAM’s 62nd Annual Meeting & Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada. This year’s conference theme, “All In”, was truly appropriate. The term not only refers to taking a bold step or a bit of a gamble, but also reflects the dedication and effort that both IAM staff and attendees put into making the event a success. For us, the best part of being “All In” at the conference was that, unlike a gamble, we knew that by the end of the event, we would leave as winners—rewarded with new business connections, fresh industry knowledge, and new strategies for the year ahead.
Inside the Expo Hall, there was no shortage of excitement. The event showcased several new innovations, all designed to improve the experience for attendees based on past feedback. Notably, the introduction of “turnkey” booths streamlined efficiency and made the space more accessible. The addition of house-shaped meeting pods outside the Expo Hall, as well as large, spacious ballrooms for meetings, helped improve the flow and visibility. These new layouts kept the atmosphere lively and ensured productive one-on-one meetings with our agent partners throughout the event.
The conference featured an exceptional lineup of speakers, addressing a variety of corporate and U.S. government-focused moving industry relevant topics. Sessions covered everything from understanding customer needs, the rise of AI and developments in the global household contract moving sector. Panellists included key industry leaders, such as those from RMCs, financial organizations and US government agencies.
One aspect of the meeting that stood out was the small-group discussions. These intimate sessions provided an opportunity for attendees to engage in candid conversations on critical and emerging topics like technology, leadership, and industry challenges. It’s always inspiring to exchange ideas and share insights with peers. A key takeaway of these was the importance of consistent, transparent communication as well as the critical role of strategic business planning in adapting to changes and ensuring long-term success in the industry.
The IAM Annual Meeting offers more than just industry knowledge; it is an unparalleled opportunity to connect with partners from around the world, forge new relationships, and stay up to date on industry trends. From face-to-face meetings to social events, the conference concentrated a wealth of opportunities into just a few short days.
As delegates from Clark & Rose, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to the exhibitors, sponsors, and fellow attendees who made the event so successful. We left Las Vegas inspired, energized and ready to apply everything we’ve learned to continue driving our business forward. We look forward to attending future IAM events and embracing the new opportunities they bring.
