HOW TO BECOME ENVIRONMENTALLY SUSTAINABLE
MOVING TO 2030
This is an ongoing commitment but we are proud to report significant progress as of August 2023.
ENVIRONMENT
Energy efficient vehicles:
- We invest in modern, fuel-efficient or electric vehicles for your moving fleet. Our removal vehicles are continually being replaced with older vehicles using Euro III, IV and V engines being replaced with the most modern and efficient Euro VI engines. It is our plan to have our entire fleet will be using these engines by the end of 2024.
- Our removal vehicles are also aerodynamically shaped to increase fuel efficiency. Fuel usage for every vehicle is monitored on a month-by-month basis.
- We implement regular maintenance and tune-ups as well as monitoring engine management reports to ensure our drivers use vehicles for optimal fuel efficiency.
- Our company cars are being replaced with hybrid and or electric vehicles.
Green packaging materials:
- Where possible we use eco-friendly packing materials, such as biodegradable or recyclable boxes.
- We encourage staff and customers to recycle all packing materials.
Recycling program:
- Recycle materials like cardboard, paper, plastic, and metal wherever possible.
- Properly dispose of electronic waste through certified recycling programs.
- Encourage and support clients who wish to donate unwanted items to charities instead of disposing of them, reducing waste and the need for disposal services.
Paperless operations:
- Utilize digital platforms for documentation, contracts, and communication to minimize paper usage.
- Provide electronic invoices and receipts to clients.
Energy-efficient equipment:
- We use energy-efficient appliances and equipment in our offices and warehouses. As well as motion sensitive LED lighting.
Implement energy-saving practices, such as turning off lights and equipment when not in use.
Routes and vehicle schedules optimised for efficiency:
- Plan and optimize moving routes to reduce fuel consumption and emissions.
- Utilize GPS technology to find the most fuel-efficient paths and avoid traffic congestion.
Eco-friendly partnerships:
- Collaborate with suppliers and partners who share our commitment to sustainability.
- Source packing materials and equipment from companies that prioritize environmental responsibility.
Employee training:
- Train your staff on eco-friendly practices, emphasizing the importance of reducing waste and conserving resources.
- Encourage employees to carpool or use public transportation when commuting.
- Support staff who wish to use the UK Government’s “cycle to work” scheme.
Promote reusable options:
- Where possible provide information on sustainable moving practices to customers, encouraging them to make environmentally friendly choices.
SOCIAL – COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT INITIATIVES
As a moving company fostering social community initiatives strengthens our relationship with the local community as such whenever possible we are open to donating and supporting partnerships with local / national charities and nonprofit organisations which has included The British Heart Foundation, Cash for Kids and Somebody Cares.
In the past we have engaged in emergency relief assistance by supporting charitable agencies with manpower, packing material and transport resources for their international projects and would always be ready to do so again.
When given the opportunity we are keen to collaborate with other local businesses to support joint community initiatives and strengthen ties.
